The Mazda EZ-6 is a new electric and plug-in hybrid sedan unveiled by Changan Mazda, a joint venture between Mazda Motor Corporation and Changan Automobile, at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. It is not available yet but is expected to launch in China by the end of 2024.
The BEV model is claimed to have a range of approximately 600km (373 miles) according to China’s lenient CLTC standards, whereas the PHEV model is expected to travel over 1000km (621 miles) on a single tank of fuel and a full battery charge. The Deepal SL03’s electric powertrains will be offered in the EZ-6. It is available with 58.9 kWh and 66.8 kWh battery packs driving a rear electric motor in 215 hp (160 kW) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) form as well as a 255 hp (190 kW) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) option. EZ-6 model will be rear-wheel drive, which is a departure from Mazda’s usual front-wheel drive offerings.
The exterior of this car design with a dynamic fascia, slim LED headlights, and a bold grille. The Mazda EZ-6 measures in at 4921mm long, 1890mm wide and 1485mm tall, which is larger than the current Mazda 6 sedan. The EZ-6 features a sleek, flowing design with a fastback-style rear end.
Inside of the cabin include a 14.6-inch infotainment display and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. There is also a flat-bottom steering wheel, a bespoke center console, slim air vents, and an ambient lighting system.
