The biggest improvements are a larger battery from 67 kWh to 89 kWh previously and a second onboard charger.
It has two significant range boost such as:
- Low-roof cargo vans see a 26% increase, reaching an estimated 159 miles on a single charge.
- High-roof models gain 32% more range, with exact figures not yet announced by Ford.
Charging is also faster thanks to the new setup. At a 180 kW DC fast charger, the low-roof E-Transit can add an estimated 67 miles of range in just 15 minutes, a 49% improvement. Ford says a full charge from zero to 100% with their new Ford Pro Series 2 80A charging station takes just 6 hours and 11 minutes, 22% faster than before.
The order opened earlier this spring and deliveries are expected later in 2024 with base price starts at $51,095. While the US update focuses on range and charging, the European version of the 2024 E-Transit boasts an even larger battery (89 kWh standard) with a range of up to 250 miles.
